Personal & Professional Leadership: Navigating Next Steps as a New Practitioner
Melanie A. Dodd, Pharm.D., Ph.C., BCPS, FASHP is Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Professor in geriatrics at The University of New Mexico (UNM) College of Pharmacy. She is a pharmacist clinician with prescriptive authority at the UNM Senior Health Clinic providing chronic disease and medication management. She is responsible for extensive didactic and clinical teaching activities in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and the UNM Health Sciences Center, including interprofessional education. She plays an active role in development of and oversees new pharmacist clinical practice models, credentialing processes, and pharmacist reimbursement for clinical services throughout New Mexico. She is currently serving as the Chair of the ASHP House of Delegates and a member of the ASHP Board of Directors.
Dr. Dodd received her B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University, Pharm.D from UNM, and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM.
