University of Utah Health Pharmacy Residency Programs - Multiple Postings

The University of Utah Health is offering multiple pharmacy residency positions. Please email the program director listed below for the program you are interested. The program director will coordinate and schedule interviews for the 2020 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting during the Personal Placement Services (PPS) through email.

Requirements

Candidates must graduate from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program with a doctor of pharmacy degree (or equivalent combination of education and clinical experience) with a minimum GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. Residents must have completed or be on track to complete an accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency program to apply. Applicants must be eligible for Utah licensure and are expected to obtain licensure as a pharmacist in Utah within the first 90 days of the start of the program year. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States prior to July 1 of the start of the program year (the UUH program does not sponsor visas).

The following information is required by the date specified on the residency application for the applicant to be considered for an onsite interview:

  • Submitted PhORCAS application
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter of intent
  • College of pharmacy transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation

All residency programs at UUH use the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). No paper applications are accepted. Completed applications in PhORCAS are reviewed, and competitive applicants are invited to interview January, February or March (components or all of interview may be virtual and/or on-site). The program participates in the Resident Matching Program of ASHP.

Additional salary information:

Pharmacy residents are classified as full-time employees of the University of Utah. Residents receive a competitive salary and receive a benefits package that includes health, dental and life insurance, and various staff discounts. To ensure the quality of the program, vacation leave is limited to ten days over the course of the year and two days per rotation. Holiday staffing requirements include one major holiday and two minor holidays. Residents attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting each December and the Mountain States Residents Conference held each spring.
