Q: How do I get there?
A: The University of Utah is located on the east foothills of Salt Lake City. General directions to the University of Utah are found at http://www.utah.edu/directions/. Maps to the University of Utah Health campus are found at http://map.utah.edu/. Our website and e-program have additional maps for the conference buildings and rooms. If you are using GPS, the address for the College of Pharmacy is 30 South 2000 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.
Q: What do I wear?
A: The conference dress is business attire. Residents are expected to dress for their presentation as they would for any regional or national conference. Other attendees are encouraged wear what they would normally wear to work.
Q: What materials will you provide?
A: In an effort to be green, we will provide a summary paper schedule when you register, but we hope you will be able to easily access all other conference materials online. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available for you to access the program from your lap top or iPad on the “UGuest” network. A free web application will be available to the first 200 people to download it. (Please download it to only one device.) The full e-program and web-app contain additional conference information including all presentation abstracts. Conference attendees will receive download instructions by email.
Q: What are the expectations of the resident presenters?
A: We ask each resident to bring 15 copies of their final 1-page handout for the room moderator to pass out to audience members. Each resident will present their research for a maximum of 15 minutes. AV moderators will provide "1-minute remaining" and "stop" notices to each speaker. At that point, audience members are encouraged to ask questions. Audience members should then write their feedback on evaluation forms provided in each room. These evaluation forms will be collected and returned to the program directors at the end of the day. All attendees are asked to be in their selected presentation room before the presentation start time so the moderator can close the doors and start each presentation on time.
Q: What are the expectations of the program directors?
A: RPDs are asked to encourage their residents to attend as many presentations as possible throughout the day. On Friday, RPDs can pick up speaker evaluations and certificates for their residents.
Q: Additional Questions?
A: Please feel free to contact the conference coordinator prior to the conference with any additional questions you may have at either MountainStatesRx@hsc.utah.edu or Shantel.Mullin@hsc.utah.edu. While at the conference, the University of Utah’s pharmacy residents are happy to provide suggestions for local dining and activities for those planning to stay after the conference.
A: Attendees will receive a link to an electronic evaluation following the conference. We greatly appreciate your attendance and look forward to your feedback. We plan to use this information in planning for the fifth annual Mountain States Conference in 2018!
