Chlorhexidine Gluconate Skin Preparation Cloth - Recall

Sage Products is recalling lots 10722, 10729, 10718, 10357, 10365, 10641, 10672, 10753, 10755, and 10944 of its 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate Cloth Patient Preoperative Skin Preparation product. These lots were found to contain Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia). People with decreased immune systems or chronic lung disease, especially those with cystic fibrosis, are more susceptible to infections with B. cepacia.
The contaminated lots were shipped between April 28, 2008, and June 19, 2008. Customers and facilities with the recalled Sage Products skin preparation product should stop using it immediately and contact Sage Products at 1-800-421-6556. Return any unused product to Sage Products Inc., C/O Customer Service Department, 3909, Three Oaks Road, Cary, IL 60013.
