Daytrana (Methylphenidate Transdermal System) Recall

Shire voluntarily withdrew a portion of Daytrana™ (methylphenidate transdermal system) patches from the market due to difficulties in removing the release liner from the patch. There are no problems with the safety or efficacy of these patches. The recall only affects patches with an expiration date of March 31, 2009 or earlier, and patches with the following lot numbers: 2563511, 2563611, and 2570411.
Daytrana™ patches not affected by the recall have been manufactured for easier removal of the release liner. All Daytrana™ patches may be still be used unless they are damaged while opening or the release liner cannot be removed. Pharmacies may call 1-888-216-6674 for further information.
