Mycophenolate Mofetil (Cellcept) Plus Sirolimus (Rapamune) - Increased Acute Rejection In Cardiac Transplant Patients

A trial investigating switching heart transplant patients from calcineurin inhibitor plus mycophenolate mofetil (Cellcept) to sirolimus (Rapamune) plus mycophenolate mofetil was recently halted. Patients switched to mycophenolate mofetil plus sirolimus had increased grade IIIA acute rejection.
